Einari Hyvönen (b. 1989, Salo, Finland) explores the phenomena around digitalisation through the means of post-digital and post-analog painting. He approaches his themes via the aesthetic of internet culture, employing memes and familiar formats from the online culture he inhabits as a millennial. This approach produces naive tragicomical narratives that bring a sense of ease and even humour to the otherwise uncomfortable topics. Hyvönen employs the traditions of narrative and symbolic storytelling familiar to art history to convey very contemporary tragedies, or farces.
